Alicia Young
Executive Vice President, Consumer|Technology Practice
Alicia Young is an Executive Vice President and leader of the agency's New York based Consumer|Technology team, a strategic group of professionals dedicated to building brand loyalty in the business-to-business, technology and consumer sectors. Working across Ruder Finn's global network of offices, Alicia brings nearly 15 years of editorial, marketing and public relations experience to the agency.
Working for brand-name clients such as Microsoft, 3M, Reuters, Cadbury Schweppes, NEC, Mitsubishi, Kellogg and GE, the Consumer | Technology Practice has earned more than a dozen industry awards for its creative marketing programs, special events, proprietary reporting and measurement systems, and record-breaking media relations campaigns.
With both an ingenious and business-minded focus, Alicia helps clients customize visionary branding and communications programs that influence buying behaviors, capitalize on market trends and shift reputations.
Some of the companies Alicia has served include: BT Infonet, Reebok, Target.com, Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Sweet N'Low, MSNBC, Alliance Data, Kyocera Mita, Ricoh, Time Warner and Sharp Electronics.
Prior to joining Ruder Finn, Alicia worked for the Consumer and Technology divisions at Shandwick USA, now Weber Shandwick.
Alicia began her communications career as a breaking news and features reporter for The Hartford Courant. As a former journalist, Alicia adds a respect for deadlines and a professional editorial eye to client programs. She is a talented byline author and speechwriter with experience in executive keynotes for trade shows, Wall Street conferences and corporate sales meetings.
Alicia is the Director of the New York Network Board of Women In Technology, International (WITI), a leading trade association for professional, tech-savvy women. She has delivered keynote addresses at the United Nations annual Commission on the Status of Women and has participated in numerous panels at forums such as The New York Stock Exchange Inner Circle, the WITI National Women's Summit and other local venues.
Alicia earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees - Communications and Journalism - from the University of Connecticut, Storrs.
