Gail L. Moaney
Executive VP, Director, Travel & Tourism
Gail L. Moaney, APR, is executive vice president and director of Ruder Finn's Travel & Tourism Practice. Gail has 20 years of experience in agency and corporate public relations and in broadcasting, implementing communications programs for destinations, transportation companies, hotels and resorts, and economic development entities worldwide. Current accounts include Air France, Barbados Investment and Development Corporation (economic development), Catskill Association for Tourism Services, EL AL Israel Airlines, Embassy Suites, Hartford Image Project, Homewood Suites, Jamaica Tourist Board, The Roosevelt Hotel (New York), South African Airways and VP Records.
Gail also served as management supervisor for The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism account, responsible for public relations activities throughout the United States, Europe and the Far East from 1988 to 1990. Additional experience includes Alitalia, AMR Consulting Groups, AmeriFlora '92, Barbados Tourism Authority, Cathay Pacific Airways, The City of New York, Disney Cruise Lines, Disney Development Corporation, IBM, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Las Colinas, Mexicana, PACT 95 (Partnership for the Defense of the America's Cup), Turkish Tourism, Save the Children and VISA.
She held the position of chief of communications for the State of Ohio Department of Economic Development, managing radio, television and print communications for tourism, international trade, science and technology, and business development.
Earlier, she experienced 12 years in broadcasting as a producer and executive producer for NBC/WRC-TV, PBS (Public Broadcasting System) and Warner Amex Cable Communications.
A fine arts graduate of Howard University, Gail holds an MA degree in broadcasting production and management from the American University. An accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), she has been a member of the Board of the Directors of PRSA NY since 1995. She is a member of the Travel & Tourism Research Association; The Caribbean Tourism Organization; Women in Communication, Inc.; an allied member of the American Society of Travel Agents; North American Airlines Public Relations Association (NAAPRA) and the Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI).
Gail sits on the Boards of Counterpart International (non-profit development organization), Lagrant Foundation (TLF) and Opportunities Industrialization Centers of America (OICA).
Her awards and honors include PRSA's McEachern and Prism Awards; International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)'s Gold Quill Awards; and National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS)'s Emmy Awards.
